What Christmas Means To Me

With Christmas 2 days away I find myself looking back on the last year and realizing what it all means to me. Family.

This time last year I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter. I was still working up a storm teaching dance 6 days a weeks, shopping for family and friends, and trying to be the best fiance I could be.
We had just finished all our holiday shows for the studio, and I was looking forwards to 2 weeks off to get everything baby related together and finalized.

Between driving to Owen Sound and back for Christmas, painting the nursery, and doing baby laundry, I guess I was starting to wear myself a little thin. Little did I know that five days after going back to work I would be put on bed rest.

It was at this moment all things changed. Before that moment it hadn't hit me that the rest of my life was going to be about, and for this wonderful little girl. My world was rocked that day. Since then my priorities have definitely changed. Christmas and birthdays used to be all about gifts, and the dread of all that travel. I no longer see it that way. It is all about my beautiful family, and how much I love them.

Lexi and Dan are my life. Without them I don't know where I would be. The past year had had a lot of ups and downs. Births, deaths, lost jobs, depression, stress, but because we have each other we have gotten through it all.

I'm looking forward to the holidays and spending time with the wonderful people I call my family, and also leaving the past behind, and starting 2012 new.

Merry Christmas to all of you, and a Happy New Year!
I hope you have a great holiday and get to spend it with the ones you love.

Welcome to my life!

Hi everyone,

I know most mommy friends of mine, especially my IG friends all started their blogs well before their wonderful bundles of joy arrived. I guess i'm late to the party, but I figured better late then never!

As you may already know my name is Jess. I'm 24 from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The last 10 years of my life have revolved around dance. I used to dance competitively when I was in school, and once I graduated I started teaching. I have spent the last 5 years teaching children and teens through my love of dance. That is until my wonderful daughter Alexis (Lexi) came into this world.

Lexi is my pride and joy. My life used to revolve around my work, until this princess came along. Without her I don't know where I would be. Since she was born there have been many ups and downs, (thats another post all together), but I wouldn't give it up for anything.

I am hoping this blog will give me some clarity with life, a place to jot down all the amazing things Lexi does in a day, and also a place to vent.

I hope you enjoy, and also don't mind the spelling and grammar. It's awful, I know, but I try.

Jess
